About Thrupp

A hamlet on the South Oxford canal whose residents were once mostly families with boating links. Now best known for the striking lift bridge, the Boat Inn and, more recently, a new cafe, 'Annie's Tea Room'.

At the lift bridge there is a service point with water, elsan disposal, pump out (self or card operated - cards from the warden), rubbish and recycling for glass, plastic, paper, cardboard and tins.

There are lots of well signposted walks around the village - look out for Hampton Gay, Shipton on Cherwell and the circular walk to Kidlington.

And we're even on Wikipedia!
